Dave is a member of Lighthouse Equity Partners’ Advisory Board and a leading executive in the private equity industry with over 30 years’ experience in direct and fund of funds investment. Dave is currently Chair of the Canadian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (CVCA), the principal private capital association for Canada.

Dave spent the majority of his career as the Head of Private Equity for the Americas at HSBC, where he led merchant banking operations in Canada, US and Latin America with capital commitments in excess of USD $2 billion, including fund of funds investment operations. The fund of funds’ activities involved capital commitments that total USD $1 billion and investments in approximately 100 different funds. In 2011, Dave led the spinout of both the US and Canadian subsidiaries of HSBC Capital to create Graycliff Partners and Fulcrum Capital Partners.

Dave’s many years of experience in mezzanine, private equity, and fund investment markets has brought him a strong understanding of how to recognize opportunities and capitalize on such. Based in Vancouver, Dave continues his leadership as a founding Managing Director at Graycliff Partners, a New York City based middle market private equity firm, which has investments throughout the US and Latin America. He is also a Managing Director at Highland West Capital Ltd., a Vancouver based merchant bank that offers a broad array of capital alternatives including traditional equity and debt structures, as well as strategic, operational and financial support to its management partners.

Dave is sought out as a director for public and private boards given his broad financial industry background and experience with a wide variety of board committees. He is currently a Director of NGEx Resources, Parkit Enterprises, and St. George’s School Foundation, and is on the advisory board of InstarAGF. Past boards include Elgin Mining, Gold-Ore Resources, Lundin Mining and Eurozinc.
